PAWS Program

Woodbury Central Middle School

P.A.W.S. Incentive Program

We want WC Middle School to have a great learning environment.   That means we expect the middle school to be a safe and fun place to be.  The PAWS Program was started several years ago to do exactly that.

What does PAWS mean?

P = Preparation Being organized and prepared makes a huge positive difference!

A = Attitude   You CAN be successful.  Knowing that will open the door.  Showing

  RESPECT for peers and all adults is part of attitude and is very, very

  important at WC.

W = Work Ethic Working hard makes you feel good because you accomplish things.

S = Success Have and do P.A.W. and Success and fun will follow.

Students who show preparation, a positive attitude and a good work ethic will be rewarded through our incentive program.  We will have a "SUPER WILDCAT DAY" at the end of the school day at the end of each month.

Possible activities

Game Day - you have a choice to play Flag Football, Ultimate Frisbee, Volleyball, Horseshoes, Bocce Ball, etc.

Movie Day - we find 3 movies, show a different movie in three different rooms and munch on popcorn.

Tournament Day - Split up teams to play 3 on 3 basketball or pin bombardment.

How do you qualify for the Super Wildcat Days???

Be prepared, have a positive attitude, and work hard!!  PAWS...

Here's how it works...

When you

1. Don't have your assignment done

2. Show disrespect or misbehave

3. Don't have your assignment book with you

4. Don't write your daily assignments in your assignment book

5. Are late to class

Then your teacher will give you a MARK.   The mark will be written in your assignment book with the teacher's initials after the code.  The marking code is this:

N = No assignment

B = Behavior

AB = Assignment Book missing or assignments not written

TD = Tardy to class

Your 1st period teacher will be your homeroom teacher.  He or she will keep track of how many marks that you receive each month.  Student with 5 or less marks at mid-term and end of quarter will be eligible for the SUPER WILDCAT DAY.  Way to Go!!!

Students who earn 5 or more marks

1. Must report to Study Hall instead of Incentive Day.
