Woodbury Central is having their Homecoming this week. During the week, the students have many activities. Each grade will decorate their hallways with the given holiday theme before the week actually starts. Freshmen are given Easter, Sophomores are Halloween, Juniors have the 4th of July, and Seniors are given Christmas. Then, a group of teachers will judge which one is the best. Following the hall decorating, students can participate in the Homecoming triathlon, which includes: volleyball, capture the flag, and dodgeball. On Monday, there are JV football and volleyball games at home. Thursday night is Coronation, skit presentations, and the Junior class auction! On Friday, all students of WC will be building floats for the Moville parade, and each grade will be competing on who has the best float. On Friday, the Wildcat football team will be playing Lawton Bronson, a big rival, for the homecoming game! There will be a tailgate prior to the football game.
The students of WC have voted for two of their senior classmates to become Homecoming King and Queen, and they will announce the winners on Thursday during coronation. The 2017 senior royalty includes: Carter Schultzen, Kurt Countryman, Christopher Mandl, Brooke Bauer, Loryn Nettleton, Casie Petersen, and Abby Petersen. Junior attendants are Garrett Arment and Sally Gallagher. The school will be auctioning off the Junior class during coronation, and if you buy a group they will do 2 hours of community service for you; the money will be going toward WC’s prom. The Homecoming parade is on Friday, and starts at 2:00. Congratulations to the royalty and good luck to all the sport teams this week!
