What/ who interested you to do what you teach?
I was inspired by three teachers in particular. Two were Mr. Gunn and Ms. Mschweitzer, both of whom were good at imparting their passion for art to their students and teaching with a great deal of honesty. I don't remember the other's name. He was a results oriented teacher who showed no personal interest in his students or their interests and I realized pretty clearly that I didn't want to be that kind of person.
Where did you go to college?
I went to the University of Nebraska at Kearney. They have a terrific graphic design program, which is what I thought I wanted to go into.
What are all of the classes you teach?
I teach 1st through 8th grade art, along with the following high school classes: graphic design, drawing, design, photography, pottery/sculpture, and painting. It's a lot of different projects and students.
How long have you been teaching?
This is my 7th year teaching and my 6th year at WC.
What is your favorite thing about what you teach?
I love it when I can see a student use something I've taught them to create something that they didn't think they could do before.
